"In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." John Muir St. Vincent Pallotti College, Raipur (C.G) conducted an annual picnic for the students to Ona Kona, Dhamtari on 4th February, 2023. Picnic was planned and coordinated by the Educational Tours and Picnic Committee of the college headed by Ms. Aanchal Mishra.292 students along with 21 faculty members and few supporting staff were a part of this fun filled picnic. The buses departed from the college campus at 8:00am and by 11:30am everyone reached the venue. On reaching, the students were welcomed by a delicious breakfast. The students then embraced the scenic beauty of the reservoir. A number of sports activities were played by all the students. To beat the heat the students enjoyed the river bank and explored the nearby natural beauty of that area while some of them enjoyed adventurous trekking in the hills surrounding the reservoir. After a tiring and fun packed morning all headed for lunch where they relished the food. The students were excited and shook their legs to the thumping dance numbers, the teachers also joined them. The students along with teaching and non-teaching staff clicked a group picture treasuring this fun-filled day. The students and the teachers were rejuvenated by tea and snacks provided just before leaving after which everyone boarded the buses for return. The visit was a memorable one. It gave the students an opportunity to appreciate the beauty of nature which developed an aesthetic sense in them. It was a great time for all the students and teachers to come together. Overall, it was a fun filled day with lots of cheerful memories.
